The Conference proceedings were opened by the chairman Don Paterson
The Guest Speakers who address our theme “Self Improvement = School Improvement”, locally and nationally, were:
Judith Johnson, Director of Learning & Schools Devon;
Sue Palmer, renowned author of “Toxic Childhood” (amongst other titles)
See Sue Palmer, writer, broadcaster and consultant on the education of young children
Bob Dore, Principal Bexleyheath School
David Tall has hard copies of Bob Dore’s presentation, which he is happy to forward on an individual basis.
There were three workshops:
1. Building Schools for the Future / Primary Capital Programme
2. Literacy and Numeracy in Primary Schools
Literacy and Numeracy Presentation
3. A Monitoring Tool for Governors
The Whitchurch Primary School Choir opened the conference with a performance of their award winning anthem D.E.V.O.N.
Whilst having lunch delegates enjoy listening to the Mary Tavy and Brentor Primary School Choir.
